This page lists the cookies and similar technologies used across cyphic.cloud, the Cyphic dashboards, partner portals and customer-facing documentation. We use the minimum set of cookies needed to operate the Services securely and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies enable sites to remember you across requests, support security mechanisms (such as anti-CSRF tokens) and remember preferences (such as language or theme). Similar technologies include localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDB; this Policy covers them collectively as "cookies".
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the website and dashboards to function. They cannot be disabled in our preference banner because the site does not work without them.
- cyphic_session — authenticated session token. Required for dashboards. Lifetime: session.
- cyphic_csrf — anti-CSRF token. Required for state-changing requests. Lifetime: session.
- cyphic_region — routes API and dashboard traffic to the closest region. Lifetime: 30 days.
3. Preference cookies
- cyphic_locale — selected language and currency. Lifetime: 12 months.
- cyphic_theme — light or dark colour scheme. Lifetime: 12 months.
- cyphic_consent — records your cookie banner choices. Lifetime: 12 months.
4. Anonymous analytics
We use first-party, IP-anonymised analytics to understand which pages are useful, where users get stuck and how our docs are read. We do not share analytics data with advertisers, data brokers or social networks. We respect the Global Privacy Control and the browser's Do Not Track header where present.
- cy_analytics — anonymised visitor identifier. Lifetime: 6 months.
- cy_pageview — short-lived page-view counter for rate-limiting. Lifetime: 30 minutes.
5. Cookies we do not use
- No third-party advertising cookies.
- No cross-site tracking pixels.
- No fingerprinting beyond standard fraud-defence signals limited to the customer's own surface.
6. Managing cookies
You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will prevent sign-in to dashboards and may break checkout flows. You can also revisit our cookie banner at any time by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the website footer.
7. Mobile and SDK telemetry
Cyphic SDKs operate inside customer applications and do not set cookies themselves. SDKs send minimal telemetry (region, version, error counts) over TLS to support operations; no end-user identifiers are collected.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy when we introduce new product surfaces or change cookies. Material changes are announced via in-product notification and on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
9. Contact
Questions about cookies? Use the Contact page and select "Privacy". For formal data-protection requests, choose "Complaints" — your message is routed to our DPO inbox.
